Psychosocial and vocational support are complements. The counselling, focus group sessions and social activities put displaced people in the right state of mind to participate in vocational training, technical business sessions, mentorship, and other capacity building opportunities . Similarly, the possibility of earning an income to take care of their families positively impacts their self-esteem.
A 20 years old female, who acquired hairdressing skills said,
The training has helped me to stop thinking. I am happy because I have people that care about me. The social worker has also helped to reduce my burden. I feel really happy that some are learning to make sanitary pad.”
